On Tuesday, August 3, Chattanooga State Community College will extend the operating hours of the Student Center, which is located in the center of the college’s main campus at 4501 Amnicola Highway, from 7:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Striving to accommodate increased requests from students for assistance with the admissions and enrollment process, the staff from the college’s Student Services Department will be available to provide one-on-one support to both new and current students.
“The admissions priority deadline is August 13, which is fast approaching,” says Dr. Elaine Swafford, vice president of Student Services. “With enrollment trending upward for the 2010 fall semester, early registration is critical. We encourage new and returning students to take advantage of August 3 to finalize their plans for the fall term.”
Students will be able to access assistance for a variety of services such as applying for admission, completing financial aid forms, and registering for classes. Because the college requires that all students receive academic advising and that first-time college freshman attend an orientation, advising and orientation sessions will also be offered.
An online admission application and guidelines about registering for classes are available at Chattanooga State’s Web site at www.chattanoogastate.edu
